Q. Who is this program
for?
A. The Acceleration® Program
isn't just for all-stars. It helps motivated athletes with all degrees
of ability to improve. If the athlete is willing to work hard, he/she
will gain speed and strength while increasing their self-confidence. If
the athlete puts more in to training, they will get more out of it. Our
goal is to help every participant get better, no matter what level you're
at when you come through our doors.
KORT Sports Training Center proudly participates in the
Frappier Acceleration® Program. This world-renowned program has spread
to over 120 sites throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe, South America and
Japan, and it continues to grow. Athletes from the NFL, NBA, NHL, Major
League Baseball, and both Collegiate and Olympic levels have benefited
from it. More than 100,000 athletes have participated around the world!

Q.
What does the program involve?
A. The first phase of the Acceleration Program is the initial
evaluation. We test the athlete's speed, vertical jump, and their strength.
This evaluation covers all major muscle groups, focusing on the muscles
used in your sport. The option of a six-week program or an eight-week
program is chosen at this time and implemented into the individuals program.
The program is designed for the individual athlete's needs and personal
goals. Athletes should plan to schedule three sessions a week for maximum
strength and physiological changes. Scheduling can be manipulated to work
with personal needs and can be adjusted daily if a scheduling conflict
occurs. At the end of the program, a post-evaluation is performed to measure
improvements. At this time maintenance programs are discussed.
Each athlete's training is planned to include the Super-Treadmill,
Plyometrics, and Strength Training. Advanced levels of training also use
patented Sprintcords.
Running Treadmill is used to analyze
and improve your running and sprint mechanics. Using mirrors and verbal
cues, the acceleration trainer will make adjustments with the problem
areas of the athlete's gait. We help each athlete to lengthen and quicken
his/her stride in order to become faster and more agile. You'll use the
treadmill to run while gradually increasing sprints to condition your
body making recovery much quicker from enzymes released during intense
bursts of activity.
Plyometrics is a series of agility drills
designed to improve balance, agility, endurance and vertical jump. First
step quickness is a key element in every sport and this is where it happens!
The athlete is more explosive with improved core strength and core balance!
Strength Training involves the use of
weight lifting equipment to improve your power base. Most athletes are
dominant on one side of their body and the weight program is designed
to stabilize those muscle groups that are unbalanced while safely enhancing
the musculature surrounding the various joints in our bodies. There are
three pieces of equipment patented through the Frappier Network that are
specifically designed to increase power, speed, and agility. We use these
in conjunction with standard weight equipment to improve both strength
and body composition.
Patented Sprintcords are attached to
your arms and legs in order to increase resistance while you're running,
kicking or throwing. They are used differently for each sport at advanced
levels of the program. Sprintcords enable athletes to strengthen at velocities
used in actual athletic competition. [

Q.
When should I begin the Acceleration® Program in relation
to my athletic season?
A. The program is designed to lead into your sport's official
conditioning period. Optimally, you should allow 9-10 weeks lead-in
time. This will allow you to finish the program, and have a week or
two of rest before your sport begins. If a vacation or other plans will
get you off your schedule, move your starting date to allow extra time
to complete the program. You have 90 days to complete the program, but
you will achieve the best results when your training isn't interrupted
by more than one week. So try to keep on track!

Q. What can I do during
the season to maintain the improvements I've achieved?
A. We have maintenance programs available to help you stay
at your peak, should you feel as though you need them. These can be
used to fine tune or review your mechanics to maintain optimum performance.
Please refer to the maintenance site.

Q. What can I do to keep making
gains?
A. The Acceleration® Program has five levels. Each level involves
greater intensity. Once you have gone through level one and participated
in your sport, you may wish to come back for the next level. Some people
simply continue from one level to the next till they have finished level
five!

Q. How is the Acceleration® Program
different from what I can get at camps?
A. Camps teach you specific skills for your sport. Our program
focuses on building speed, strength, quickness, agility, jumping ability,
and overall conditioning. This gives coaches a better overall athlete
to teach the specific skills necessary for your sport. While the price
is comparable to most camps, you get far more one-on-one time with our
professionals as well as more time to absorb and practice what you have
learned.

Q. How can I compare this program
to other conditioning programs?
A. Our program has been scientifically designed and
tested by exercise physiologists, physicians, athletic trainers, physical
therapists, coaches and professional athletes. We use patented equipment
designed for and used exclusively by the Acceleration® Program.
No other program can duplicate these protocols and equipment nor can
they produce the results we achieve. Athletes who have been through
the program will tell you that it is fun and unparalleled for building
motivation.

Q. What can parents get out
of the program?
A. Sorry kids, this place isn't off limits to parents.
Parents can be involved as much or as little as they wish. Some parents
come to every session, and they learn (along with you) a lot of information
about training and the biomechanics of the whole body. When parents
know what problems to watch for in gait and lateral movement, they can
help you keep on course.
