Staff Bios

 

Sara Blincoe, MS

Educational Background
Sara is a graduate of Saint Henry High School where she competed in soccer. After receiving an athletic and academic scholarship to the University of Charleston, Sara was a four-year varsity starter. She was chosen as team captain as a sophomore, junior, and senior. She was named to the WVIAC All-Conference and All-Region teams all four years.

Sara joined the crew team for fun her freshman year and her novice boat finished fourth at the Dad Vail Nationals in 1998.

Academically, Sara majored in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training. As an athletic trainer, Sara was involved with every sport at UC. She was the head trainer for the No. 2 ranked men's basketball team her junior year and women's softball her senior year.

Sara graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis on Sports Medicine. She graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in August 2002 with a Master of Science in Physical Education with a concentration in Exercise Science and Wellness. After her graduate internship with NovaCare Physical Therapy Acceleration in Alexandria, Kentucky she moved to Louisville. Before taking the Director's position for KORT Sports Training Center, she was a full-time staff member of Caritas and KORT for two years.


Daniel Riney, BS, ACE, NASM

Educational Background
Daniel is a graduate of Nelson County High School where he competed in both football and basketball. He received a scholarship to Campbellsville University to play football where he was a three-year varsity starter. He was chosen as team captain his junior and senior year. Daniel graduated in May 2004 with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine. He interned with KORT Sports Training Center prior to graduation and was hired in May 2004.


Jason Abell, BS

Educational Background
Jason is a graduate of LaRue County High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Jason graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis on Exercise Science. He currently works with the Player's Dugout as a private instructor for softball and baseball. Jason joined the KORT staff in January for an internship position and was hired April 2005. Jason's background in baseball instruction will be another asset to the staff.


Thameka Baskin, BS, CSCS

Educational Background
Thameka is a graduate of Berea Community High School where she played varsity basketball and softball during middle school and throughout high school. After graduating, she attended the University of Louisville where she continued her softball career with the varsity team. Thameka graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Administration with a concentration in Exercise Science. She is currently working on her Master of Science degree at the University of Louisville while personal training at the Louisville Slugger Museum Fitness Center and at KORT. Thameka joined the KORT staff in 2003 and her certifications include National Strength and Conditioning Association (N.S.C.A.) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S.)


Sharrod Everett, BS

Educational Background
Sharrod is a graduate of Gallatin County High School in Nashville where he played football. Upon graduation he received an athletic scholarship to Campbellsville University where he continued his playing career. In April, Sharrod graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in Sports Medicine. He has joined the KORT Staff part time while applying to graduate school.
