KORT Richmond is conveniently located at 5006 Atwood Drive, Suite 2 (on the Robert R. Martin By-Pass across from Toyota South). We treat orthopedic physical therapy with a strong emphasis on hands-on physical therapy, functional activity restoration, and individualized care. Our proven techniques benefit a wide range of individuals suffering from injuries or pain associated with work, auto accident, back and neck, or peripheral joint problems (involving the shoulder, elbow, hand, hip, knee, foot and ankle), dizziness and sports injuries.

Our Team

Amy Thoroughman, P.T., MSPT, Clinic Director

Amy graduated from University of Kentucky in 2007. She attended Morehead State University for undergraduate training in biology and exercise physiology before finishing her education at University of Kentucky. Her clinical interests include pelvic health physical therapy, vestibular rehab, orthopedics and manual therapy. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband Kevin and two daughters, Autumn and Erin.

Nick George, P.T., DPT, OCS, Center Co-Director

Nick earned his bachelor's of science degree in kinesiology and exercise science and went on to receive his doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2017. He is residency-trained in orthopedic physical therapy and the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties has designated him as an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). He possesses certification in dry needling (Cert. DN) and treats a variety of orthopedic conditions. His clinical interests include sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, manual therapy, and pain management. Originally from Lexington, he is a lifelong University of Kentucky fan and enjoys fishing, golfing, and spending time with his wife, Beth.

Jacob Miles, P.T., DPT, Cert. D.N., Cert SMT, FAAOMPT, Dip. Of Osteopractic

Jacob lives in Richmond with his wife, Mary Beth, and his son, Matthew. He specializes in managing chronic pain, particularly of the neck, back and TMJ. He also has clinical interests in helping folks with balance, dizziness and headaches. When he is away from work, Jacob likes taking time to hike, kayak, or generally spending time outdoors. He also enjoys cheering on the Wildcat football and basketball teams. He and Mary Beth enjoy traveling and exploring new places, foods and cultures.

Derek Stewart, P.T., DPT

Derek earned his doctorate of physical therapy in 2019 as well as his bachelor's of science in human health sciences in 2016 from the University of Kentucky He also graduated from the physical therapist assistant program at Somerset Community College in 2012. Since then, he has worked in various healthcare settings. His clinical interests include manual therapy, pelvic health, treatment of neck and back pain, injury prevention and pain neuroscience. He also specializes in treating men’s pelvic health conditions. In his spare time, Derek enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, traveling and rooting for the University of Kentucky Wildcats.

Lindsey Harvey, OTR/L, CHT

Lindsey earned her master's degree in occupational therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in 2018. She is a certified hand therapist specialized in treatment of the upper extremity including fractures, nerve compressions, overuse disorders, tendinopathies, arthritis and custom splint fabrication. She also has special interest in pelvic health and postpartum care. While not at work, Lindsey enjoys spending time with her husband and son on their family farm.

Jon Huff, PTA, CSCS

Jon is a 2018 graduate from the Somerset Community College physical therapy assistant program. Prior to becoming a physical therapy assistant, he earned his master's of science in exercise and wellness from Eastern Kentucky University, where he assisted the strength and conditioning department with all sports. His clinical interests are orthopedic and sports rehab, as well as aquatic therapy. In his free time, Jon enjoys working out and spending time with his wife and son.
