Charise graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1983 with a bachelor's in health science. Her initial physical therapy career began with a variety of general rehabilitation and later specializing in orthopedics and sports medicine. After working four years in Kentucky, she spent 27 years working in North Carolina in outpatient orthopedic settings. Later, she received a doctorate of physical therapy in 2012 from Shenandoah University. Charise became involved in women's health while working in an outpatient facility North Carolina. She decided to further her knowledge of women's health and make it a specialty area. Charise enjoys being out in nature whether it be riding her bike or walking. She loves animals and has two dogs, Sophie and Murphy.
