  • Clinic
    KORT Bardstown is a 6,500-square-foot outpatient facility in historic Nelson County providing physical, occupational, and speech therapy services. We specialize in orthopedic conditions, hand therapy, lymphedema, wound care management, industrial rehab, sports medicine, and aquatic therapy. We are the official sports medicine provider for Bethlehem High School, Nelson County High School, and Thomas Nelson High School.

    Angela "Angie" Taylor, MHS, OTR/L, CHT, Clinic Director
    Angela Angie Taylor
    Angie is the clinic director and is a Board-Certified Hand Therapist by the Hand Therapy Commission. In practice since 1995, she is experienced in treating conditions related to shoulder to hand conditions. Angie is certified in Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM), Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), and Post-Offer Employment Testing (POET). Angie has a bachelor's degree in Health Science in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University and has earned her master's in Health and Sciences from the University of Indianapolis, IN.
    Elliot Mattingly, PT, DPT, OCS, Clinic Director
    Elliot Mattingly
    Elliot graduated with his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Bellarmine University in 2011. He returned to his hometown of Bardstown to start working with KORT in February 2012. Elliot is a 2014 graduate of the Select Medical Orthopaedic Residency Program, and is now a member of it’s faculty. In 2015 he became a Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Elliot has a passion for working with many different populations to help people achieve the highest quality of life. Elliot is an avid runner/triathlete and started the KORT Running Team, based out of Bardstown. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with his wife and dogs.
    Robbie Hinkebein, PT, DPT, ATC, OCS
    Robbie Hinkebein
    Robbie is a Partner with KORT and Regional Vice President for the KORT-South Region. He holds a Doctorate in Physical therapy from Regis University after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Louisville (1996). He also received his bachelor’s in Biology/Chemistry from Murray State University (1993). He is Board Certified in Orthopedics, and is a Certified Athletic Trainer. Robbie currently serves as an instructor/mentor for KORT’s Orthopedic residency program, as well as oversight of KORT’s Sports Medicine program and Home Health program. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), in which he is a legislative liaison for the private practice section, and is a member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association (NATA). Originally from Louisville, Robbie resides in Bardstown with his wife (Stacey), and 2 children (Jameson and McKenna).
    Roger Robinson, PT, DPT, OCS
    Roger Robinson
    Roger has been with Kort since 1990. He is a Partner and Regional Vice President for the KORT-South Region. He holds a Doctorate in Physical therapy from MGH Institute of Health Professionals after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky (1989). He is Board Certified in Orthopedics, and lectures in the Kort Leadership and Training Development program. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). Originally from Ashland Ky. Roger resides with his wife Cindy in Bardstown Ky. They have 4 children who are all attending college and beginning careers of their own.
    Melanie Booker, PT, DPT, CLT, MDT, OCS
    Melanie Booker
    Melanie has been part of the KORT team since 2005. Melanie graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy in 1999, and completed her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2008. She is a board certified specialist on orthopedics and holds certifications in Lymphedema, Augmented Soft Tissue Mobilization, and the Mechanical and Diagnosis Therapy (MDT/McKenzie Method) of the Spine. Melanie is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association (KPTA), and the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT). Melanie leads the POWR program and has a passion for helping people achieve their weight loss goals. She also is involved with ReVital, KORT's Cancer Rehab program. Melanie is a competitive bodybuilder and powerlifter and enjoys transitioning many of her patients to the gym to help them optimize their fitness goals
    Jennifer Hayden, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC
    Jennifer Hayden
    Jennifer is a native of Bardstown. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Campbellsville University in 1999 and her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2003. While working for KORT, Jennifer completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2008. Jennifer became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2011 and enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, especially pediatric and sports-related injuries. During her free time, she loves going to the movies, reading, playing softball, and watching UK sports.
    Michael Kidwell, PT, DPT, OCS

    Michael is originally from Bardstown, KY. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2015. His clinical interests include manual therapy for shoulder, knee, hip, and low back pain. His hobbies include golfing, softball, and attending UK football games with his family.
    Kalen Morgan, MHS, OTR/L, CHT
    Kalen Morgan
    Kalen is an Occupational Therapist, Certified Hand Therapist and Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from Eastern Kentucky University in 2004 and a Master’s in Health Science from the University of Indianapolis in 2010. Kalen received her certification as a Certified Hand Therapist in 2010. As the WorkStrategies Coordinator for KORT, she provides clinical support and training for their comprehensive industrial rehab program which includes post-injury care and management for Workers’ Compensation patients, and injury prevention initiatives of onsite job analysis, ergonomic training, clinician training, post-employment testing, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Early Symptom Intervention programs. She provides Quality Assurance for the reporting of Functional Capacity Evaluations and, as a Certified Hand Therapist, she specializes in treating upper extremity conditions at the clinical level. Her clinical interests are in custom-splint fabrication, upper extremity rehabilitation, Industrial Medicine and Ergonomics.

    Amy is a native of Bardstown. She completed her Occupational Therapy degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1995. She joined the KORT team in 1996. Amy enjoys working with a variety of patients with a special interest in working with the geriatric population. She has an extensive background in working in inpatient rehab with orthopedic patients. Amy is a member od National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy. She lives locally with her husband G.B. and spends her free time attending the sporting events of her four daughters.
    Thomas Mudd, PT, DPT
    Thomas Mudd
    Thomas earned his doctorate degree in physical therapy from Bellarmine University in May of 2018. Shortly after graduating, he joined the KORT Bardstown team here in his home town. Thomas has a particular interest in orthopedic injuries and plans to eventually receive his certification in dry needling as well as earning a board-certified specialty in orthopedics. In his free time Thomas enjoys fishing, spending time with friends and family, and watching sports, particularly Kentucky basketball and football.

    Verneasa Hendricks
    Verneasa is a 1991 graduate of Somerset Community College with an associate degree in Applied Science. Verneasa has been an employee at KORT Bardstown Rehab Services since 1997. She is certified in Instrumental Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and is a certified wound care provider by the National Alliance of Wound Care. Verneasa enjoys seeing all patient types but is passionate working with amputee patients.
    Eric Burkard, MA, ATC, CSCS
    Eric Burkard
    Eric is a native of Momence, IL. He graduated in 2000 with a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, and in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. Before coming to Kentucky in 2012, Eric served as the Athletic Trainer at Marian Catholic and Thorton Township High Schools in the Chicago Suburbs, Niantic-Harristown and Illiopolis High Schools in Central Illinois, and Cumberland and Cawood High Schools in Eastern Kentucky. Eric is currently the Treasurer of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Eric is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has been trained in the use of Kinesio Tape, The McKenzie Method and the Functional Movement Screen. Outside of work, Eric enjoys woodworking, fishing and hunting.

    Erin is originally from Brandenburg, KY. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science from Bellarmine University while also playing softball for the Knights. She then went on to earn her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Spalding University. Erin currently is the athletic trainer at Bardstown High School and enjoys working out and spending time with my son, Easton.

    Cody Pace
    Cody joined KORT after graduating from the University of Central Missouri. He then moved from Union, MO where he grew up, to Bardstown to work with the athletes at Nelson County High School. He enjoys being outdoors, hunting, fishing and horseback riding in his spare time. Cody’s favorite quote doesn’t come from a sports figure, it comes from John Wayne who said: "Courage is being scared to death ... and saddling up anyway."
