    KORT Physical Therapy Owensboro is conveniently located on Frederica Street. We provide outpatient orthopedic & neurological Physical Therapy. We also specialize in Sports Medicine, Vestibular Rehabilitation, Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCEs), Work Conditioning/Hardening, and Dry Needling. In addition, we provide on-site ergonomic consultations to local industries, and perform job analysis & post-offer/pre-employment testing.

    Jennifer Byrne, PT, DPT
    Jennifer Byrne
    Jennifer is the clinic director and has been providing physical therapy since 1997. She is a graduate from the University of Evansville with a Master of Physical Therapy degree. She began her career after completing a Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Midway College. She currently serves as an Advisory Board Member of the University of Evansville PT/PTA Program. As a new practitioner, she was recognized for her outstanding contribution to her profession and awarded the Richard V. McDougall Award "Fledgling Award" by the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as well as the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association (KPTA). An Owensboro native, she is an active member of the Owensboro Chamber of Commerce and is a UK football season ticket holder.
    Aaron Flaherty, PT, DPT, OCS
    Aaron Flaherty
    Aaron earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, as well as his bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Kentucky. His clinical interests lie in the treatment of orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. He likes camping, golfing, traveling, ping pong, and flag football. He is active in Our Lady of Lourdes church.
    Haley Fitzgerald, PT, DPT

    Haley earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2010 from the University of Kentucky. She began her career serving a rural community in an outpatient setting, providing care to patients across the age spectrum, and treating a variety of diagnoses including but not limited to orthopedic, spinal, neurological, vestibular, and wound care conditions. Haley is passionate about health and wellness and is committed to helping her patients restore pain-free functional mobility. She lives in Owensboro with her husband, Matt, loves to compete in triathlons, and is an active member of her church community.
    Chelsea Rice, PTA

    Chelsea is our Physical Therapy Assistant. She graduated from KCTCS Madisonville in 2005. Chelsea has been a member of our KORT team since May 2011. In her free time, Chelsea likes to play tennis.
    Carey Broughton, MS, OTR/L, CHT
    Carey Broughton
    Carey has 14 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist. She is also a certified hand therapist. She is credentialed through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission and is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. As a certified hand therapist, Carey has specialized training and advanced clinical skills in the treatment of the hand and upper extremity. She is able to assess and treat conditions requiring conservative management or postoperative care, as well as, provide customized splinting in order to restore or maximize function of the hand, wrist, and upper extremity. Conditions she treats include arthritis, repetitive motion injuries, fractures, tendon & nerve repair, amputations, shoulder pain, and post-operative care. Carey’s work experience has been primarily in Owensboro and Hartford, KY. Carey graduated from Western Kentucky University and from Washington University in St. Louis, MO with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She lives in Owensboro with her husband, Charley, and their two children.
    Lindsey Townsel, ATC
    Lindsey Townsel
    Lindsey Townsel joined KORT in the fall of 2014. She is a licensed athletic trainer in the Owensboro clinic and functions as the head athletic trainer for Brescia University. Lindsey comes to KORT from Muskegon, Michigan where she worked as a licensed athletic trainer for Mercy Health. This position afforded her the opportunity to serve as the head athletic trainer for Muskegon Community College. Her responsibilities not only included athletic training services at the college, but she also did community outreach to local high schools in the area; primarily spending time at Muskegon Heights Public Schools Academy. During the winter semester of 2011, Lindsey began teaching as an adjunct professor for the physical education department at Muskegon Community College. Lindsey is a 2010 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana where she was the first graduate assistant athletic trainer to serve in the two-year position. While at USI she received a master's degree in Public Administration.
