Our Team

Lori Beth Weickel, P.T., DPT, OCS, COMT, Center Manager

Lori Beth received her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky (UK) in 2013 after spending her undergraduate years at UK studying exercise science. Lori Beth participated in KORT's orthopedic residency program and became an orthopedic certified specialist in 2016. She is also a certified orthopedic manual therapist and has specialty certifications in pelvic floor physical therapy, ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation, trigger-point dry needling and is able to perform functional capacity evaluations and post-offer employment tests. She enjoys being a physical therapist because she gets to meet people from all walks of life and help them achieve their goals. Lori Beth enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children.

Bridgette Mangold, P.T., DPT, OCS

Bridgette is originally from Lexington and received a bachelor's degree in health science and doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University. While at Bellarmine, Bridgette was a member of the track and field team. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, running and trying new restaurants. Bridgette loves the diversity of outpatient orthopedics and working with such a great team.

Allison Short, P.T., DPT

Allison received a doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University in 2015. She studied exercise science at the College of Charleston and developed an interest in orthopedics and sport-specific injuries. She enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Allison is certified in vestibular rehabilitation and trigger point dry needling and a certified orthopedic manual therapist.

Abigail Adams, P.T., DPT, COMT

Abigail developed an interest in physical therapy during her years playing competitive field hockey and softball. She earned her bachelor's degree in health sciences and doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky. Abigail enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics because of the diversity of patient populations and diagnoses it offers. Abigail has her certification in orthopedic manual therapy (COMT), and is also certified in vestibular rehabilitation, trigger-point dry needling and ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation. Abigail enjoys spending time with friends and family, working in her yard and leading in the youth group at her church.

Ryan Barry, P.T., DPT

Ryan was born and raised in Louisville. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in human nutrition and in 2015 with a master's degree in exercise physiology from the University of Louisville. In 2018, he earned his doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University. Ryan joined the Kentucky National Guard in 2023 and is an officer in the medical branch. Ryan enjoys traveling, being outdoors, CrossFit and is an avid UL fan. He is married to his lovely wife, Amy. They have one son, Levi and two dogs, Mila and Winnie.

Michael Ethington, P.T., DPT

Michael received a bachelor's degree from Transylvania University and doctorate from the University of Kentucky. He has interests in hands-on therapy and is passionate about working with a variety of individuals to get them back on track with their everyday life. Michael enjoys hiking and camping, boating, running, watching sports, traveling and spending time with friends. His favorite teams are the Wildcats, Packers and Chelsea FC.

Matt Leach, P.T.

Matt earned his master's degree in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky in 1999 and has extensive experience in the field of outpatient orthopedics prior to joining our team in 2004. Matt is certified to perform soft tissue mobilization through the IASTM techniques and functional capacity evaluations (FCE's).

Abbie Whitman, P.T., DPT

Abbie earned her doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky and her bachelor's degree in exercise science from Eastern Kentucky University. Her clinical interests include general orthopedics, vestibular and performing arts rehabilitation. Abbie enjoys spending time with family, knitting, hiking and discovering new places.

Jacob Comstock, P.T., DPT

Jacob grew up in Louisville and earned his bachelor's and doctorate degrees from Bellarmine University. He gained experience as a physical therapist in Indiana and Illinois before family and friends drew him back to the great state of Kentucky, where he has been with KORT since 2025.

Jacob enjoys spending time with his family, including his wife, Barbara, his son, Bryson, and his dog, Daisy.

Heather Brashear, PTA

Heather graduated from the physical therapist assistant program in 2019 at Jefferson Community and Technical College. She is certified in ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation. Heather likes traveling and being outdoors with friends and family and her chocolate lab, Layla. She grew up in the Fern Creek area but calls Mount Washington home.

OrthoVive Joint Health

Dedicated to managing discomfort and loss of function, OrthoVive Joint Health meets you where you are in your osteoarthritis, or degenerative joint disease, journey, treating the condition and extending the life of your joint. Our therapists can enhance the results of non-surgical treatments and when surgery is needed, serve as your guide and coach maximizing the use of your new joint. We support your success through pre-operative education, prehabilitation and post-operative care.

Pediatric Therapy

We offer multi-disciplinary pediatric therapy services – physical, occupational, speech therapy – to help children reach developmental milestones and their full potential. Therapy methods are typically given in one-on-one sessions, using play-based activities to gain insight into how a child moves, thinks and expresses themselves. Small group therapy also can be helpful for some children to build social skills and communication. Additional specialized programs, such as feeding therapy, sensory/emotional regulation, toe-walking and torticollis, are also available at select locations. We are committed to providing an exceptional experience that enhances each child's participation in desired family, community and school activities.

ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation is the first nationwide comprehensive oncology rehabilitation program of its kind. ReVital focuses on helping individuals with cancer, and those in recovery, live better lives.
