Our Team

Lori Beth Weickel, P.T., DPT, OCS

Lori Beth received her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Kentucky after spending her undergraduate years also at the University of Kentucky studying exercise science. Lori Beth participated in KORT’s Orthopedic Residency Program and became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2016. She is also a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT). She has specialty certifications in pelvic floor physical therapy, ReVital Cancer Rehab, trigger point dry needling, and is able to perform functional capacity evaluations and post offer employment tests. She enjoys being a Physical Therapist because she gets to meet people from all walks of life and enjoys seeing people achieve their goals. Outside of physical therapy, Lori Beth enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, Nick, and her son, Willie.

Allison Short, P.T., DPT

Allison received her doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University in 2015. She studied exercise science at College of Charleston and developed an interest in orthopedics and sport-specific injuries. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Allison is certified in vestibular rehabilitation and trigger point dry needling, and is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist (COMT).

Abigail Mulloy, P.T., DPT

Abigail developed an interest in physical therapy as a career in her years playing competitive field hockey and softball. She earned her bachelor's of health sciences and doctorate of physical therapy degrees from the University of Kentucky. Abigail enjoys working in outpatient orthopedics for the diversity of patient populations and diagnoses it offers. Abigail has her Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy (COMT), and is certified in vestibular rehabilitation, trigger point dry needling, and ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation. Outside of work, Abigail enjoys exercising, working in her yard, participating in church activities, and spending time with her family, friends, and dog, Jack.

Matt Leach, PT

Matt earned his master's degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 1999 and has extensive experience in the field of outpatient orthopedics. Matt is certified to perform IASTM and functional capacity evaluations (FCE's). Matt joined our team in 2004.

Ryan Barry, P.T., DPT

Ryan was born and raised in Louisville. He graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in human nutrition and in 2015 with a master’s degree in exercise physiology. In 2018, he earned a doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University. Ryan enjoys traveling, being outdoors, CrossFit and is an avid UL fan. He is married to his lovely wife, Amy and lives with his two dogs, Roxy and Mila, in Germantown.

Abby Janszen, P.T., DPT

Abby grew up in northern Kentucky and moved to Louisville in 2011 to play soccer and to study at Bellarmine University, where she earned a bachelor's in health sciences in 2015 and a doctorate in physical therapy in 2017. She enjoys treating any orthopedic condition and she is certified vestibular rehabilitation. Abby enjoys spending time outside, running and visiting breweries with her dog, Cindi.

Bridgette Mangold, P.T., DPT

Bridgette is originally from Lexington and received a bachelor's degree in health science and doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University. While at Bellarmine, Bridgette was a member of the track and field team. She enjoys spending time with her friends and family, running and trying new restaurants. Bridgette loves the diversity of outpatient orthopedics and working with such a great team.

Michael Ethington, P.T., DPT

Michael received a bachelor's degree from Transylvania University and doctorate from the University of Kentucky. He has interests in hands-on therapy and is passionate about working with a variety of individuals to get them back on track with their everyday life. Michael enjoys hiking and camping, boating, running, watching sports, traveling and spending time with friends. His favorite teams are the Wildcats, Packers and Chelsea FC.

Heather Brashear, PTA

Heather graduated from the physical therapist assistant program in 2019 at Jefferson Community and Technical College. She is certified in ReVital cancer rehabilitation and the personalized orthopedic weight loss reduction programs. Heather likes traveling and being outdoors with friends and family and her chocolate lab, Layla. She grew up in the Fern Creek area but calls Mount Washington home.

Nicole Sheffer, ATC

Nicole is originally from Georgetown, KY. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University in 2015, and a master's degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University in 2017. Prior to joining KORT, Nicole was an Athletic Trainer at Chapel Hill High School in Tyler, Texas. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband and new son.

Makenze Crawley, MSAT, ATC

Makenze is a native of Stuart, Florida. She relocated to Louisville in 2013 to attend the University of Louisville where she graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s in exercise science and a minor in wellness coaching. Makenze stayed local and attended Bellarmine University where she received her master's of athletic training degree in 2020. She is a member of the National Athletic Training Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Outside of work, Makenze enjoys spending time with her dog, working out and coaching CrossFit. Makenze is the athletic trainer at Moore High School.
