Our Team

Sara Flowers, P.T., DPT, Center Director

Sara earned a doctorate of physical therapy from Bellarmine University and bachelor's degree in health and human performance from the University of Louisville. She is trained in trigger point dry needling, functional capacity evaluations, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, vestibular and concussion rehabilitation. Her clinical interests are orthopedics, sports medicine and geriatrics.

Emily Magrum, P.T., DPT

Emily is a graduate of Bellarmine University where she earned a doctorate in physical therapy and bachelor's degree in health sciences. Emily is a graduate of KORT’s Clinical Orthopedic Residency program. She is certified as a clinical instructor, and is certified to perform Functional Capacity Evaluations, WorkSteps testing, the Personalized Orthopedic Weight Reduction Program and trigger point dry needling. Her clinical interests are orthopedics, sports medicine and post-operative rehabilitation.

Lily Simmons, P.T., DPT

Lily is a 2019 graduate of the University of Kentucky where she earned a doctorate in physical therapy. She also graduated in 2015 from the University of Louisville where she earned a bachelor's degree in health and human performance with a concentration in exercise science. She was a member of the University of Louisville Ladybirds Dance Team. Lily is certified in the Personalized Orthopedic Weight Reduction Program and has a clinical interest in orthopedics, hands-on therapy and dance rehabilitation.

Mason Sullivan, P.T., DPT

Mason earned a doctorate in physical therapy from Bellarmine University and bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Louisville. Mason is a trained vestibular therapist and certified to perform Works-STEPS evaluations. He is the physical therapy liaison for Southern High School athletics. Mason’s interests are orthopedics, vestibular and post-operative rehabilitation.

Brian Shirley, P.T., DPT

Brian is a graduate of the University of Kentucky where he earned a doctorate in physical therapy. Previously, he attended Bellarmine University and earned a bachelor's degree in exercise science. Brian is certified to perform Work Steps testing and Personalized Orthopedic Weight Reduction Program. Brian is a member of the American Physical therapy Association and Kentucky Physical Therapy Association and has a clinical interest in post-operative rehabilitation, sports medicine and hands-on therapy.

Joyce Lay, OTR/L, CHT

Joyce is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in occupational therapy. She is a certified hand therapist with a background in augmented soft tissue mobility, application of kinesio taping, trained for Functional Capacity Evaluations and certified in manual therapy for the upper extremity.

Michelle Gaeta, MOT, OTR/L

Michelle received a master's degree in occupational therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She worked in hand therapy/upper extremity rehabilitation in Florida and New Jersey prior to relocating to Kentucky in 2016. She has special interest in treating dysfunction of the elbow, wrist and hand. Michelle lives in Shelbyville with her three children. She enjoys spending time with her children, riding her horses and working on her farm.

Haley Pfisterer, MSAT, ATC

Haley is a native of Louisville, KY. She attended Bellarmine University here in Louisville where she completed her bachelor of science in sports performance in 2018 and her master of science in athletic training in 2020. Haley enjoys her work in sports medicine and to get her athletes safe and healthy. She also enjoys spending time at home with her little girl. Haley is the athletic trainer at Southern High School.
