Care Delivery
Rachel Hamilton
Rachel Hamilton, a mother of three and a labor and delivery nurse, was weakened by a complex hernia surgery. When Rachel first attended physical therapy, her core was so weak she wore a supportive binder around her abdomen. Her post-surgery pain and soreness on her left side affected her so much that she temporarily switched responsibilities at work to take on less physically demanding duties. After a month of treatment, Rachel carried her 48-pound, 4-year-old daughter into the house from the car, something she was afraid she wouldn't be able to do again. Now, she carries her daughter down the hall to bed every night like she did prior to surgery. "I tell all my co-workers and patients in labor and delivery that pelvic floor physical therapy should be something that anyone who's been pregnant should do," Rachel said. "It's worth it to invest in yourself!"
James White
James White entered physical therapy after a torn ACL, thinking it would be an easy way to return to normal. Before physical therapy, James was finding physical activities, including playing soccer, difficult. However, as a young athlete, he was ready to work hard to return to the soccer pitch. James teamed up with Physical Therapist Braden Bell, who pushed him to get physically and mentally stronger. Ten months later, James has returned to his position as an attacking midfielder with the support of Braden. James developed a strong relationship with Braden and invited him to attend James' senior night. "I'm very grateful for everything that the staff did for me," James said. "They are a huge part of me getting to where I am today." Congratulations on your recovery James! Thank you for choosing us for your rehabilitation journey.
Jason Furdek
Jackson Furdek was in a dirt bike accident. He gave his body time to recover, but a subsequent lacrosse injury further injured his knee. Josh underwent surgery, followed by physical therapy at KORT. Knowing that Jackson is a serious multi-sport athlete, Physical Therapist Josh Bixler crafted a program that challenged and prepared Jackson to return to sports. "The most important thing for me to be able to do again was hockey because it's my favorite sport," Jackson said. "And, being able to play hockey meant that I could do almost everything else." Jackson worked hard toward his goals over the next several months. "I have been able to play again and have made lots of progress thanks to the physical therapy I had," he said. "The ability to skate again was thanks to some of the work I had in PT."
