KORT's Athletic Trainers aspire to provide medical care with the highest degree of professionalism, honesty, and compassion. Working directly with the athlete and collaborating with parents, coaches, and other health care providers, we ensure that the athlete is able to participate as safely as possible.

Since 1987, KORT has been the foremost provider of sports medicine services in the region.     Mark Fang, ATC
    Mark is a native of New Hyde Park, NY. He graduated from Stony Brook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Before joining KORT, Mark worked as a personal trainer at UFC Gym Long Island, was an athletic trainer working with Varsity Spirit covering cheerleading/dance camps/competitions in various parts of the country, and was the athletic trainer at Oyster Bay High School in Oyster Bay, NY. Mark holds certifications in Trigger Point Performance Therapy and kettlebell training. As an athletic trainer, he is interested in manual therapy. In his free time, Mark enjoys learning and cooking different recipes he finds, improving his knowledge of strength and conditioning, and competing in Olympic weightlifting at a local and national level.

    Erin Sireno, MS, ATC
    Erin is originally from Brandenburg, KY. She earned her Bachelors of Arts in Exercise Science from Bellarmine University while also playing softball for the Knights. She then went on to earn her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Spalding University. Erin currently is the athletic trainer at Bardstown High School and enjoys working out and spending time with my son, Easton.

    Jennifer Hayden, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC
    Jennifer is a native of Bardstown. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Campbellsville University in 1999 and her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2003. While working for KORT, Jennifer completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2008. Jennifer became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2011 and enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, especially pediatric and sports-related injuries. During her free time, she loves going to the movies, reading, playing softball, and watching UK sports.

    Lindsey Townsel, ATC
    Lindsey is originally from Muskegon, MI. She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a Master’s in Public Administration and a 2008 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to joining KORT, Lindsey was the Head Athletic Trainer at Muskegon Community College, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Physical Education Department, teaching classes in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Bourne Pathogens. She is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, and holds a certification for Functional Movement Screening. Some of her hobbies include spending time with family/friends, traveling, and painting.

    Jamie Ford, ATC
    Jaime earned her B.A. in Physical Education from Kentucky Wesleyan College and an M.S. in Physical Education/Sport Science from Western Kentucky University. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society and is an ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer. She has been a high school and club official for over 18 years and currently works with individual athletes as a Mental Toughness Coach and mentor. In her spare time, she enjoys participating in community theatre, rollerblading, weight-training and spending time with her husband, Robert and their daughters.

    Chelsey Switzer, ATC
    Chelsey is a native to Cynthiana, Kentucky. She graduated in 2013 from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Exercise Science. Throughout her career, she has experience with a wide range of sports at the high school and collegiate levels. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, and the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. She enjoys being a preceptor to future athletic trainers. When she is not working she enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family, boyfriend, and dog Maximus.

    Jennifer Mason, ATC
    Jennifer, originally from Rhode Island, joined KORT after earning her Bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Eastern Kentucky University. She resides in Richmond, KY while providing athletic training services for Garrard County High School. She was an avid soccer and lacrosse player and loves hockey. She has two dogs and in her free time enjoys hiking, baking, and reading. When she’s not doing ATC duties, “I’m usually with my two dogs, either chasing them up a trail or kicking the counter surfers out of kitchen”.

    Mike Judd, ATC, CSCS
    Michael received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 2012 and his Master’s degree from Louisiana Tech University in 2014. He is a native of Manchester, Connecticut where he attended Manchester High School. Michael recently worked at Middle Tennessee State University where he covered the Men’s Football Team. Before he completed an internship with the New England Patriots in 2014, and covered the football and women’s bowling team at Louisiana Tech. Michael is currently certified as an athletic trainer (ATC), certified strength and conditioning coach (CSCS), and FMS level 1 certified. Michael is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), and National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

    Anthony Passarette, ATC
    Anthony is a New York native from Mount Sinai. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Stony Brook University in 2013. He went onto to California University of Pennsylvania for graduate school where he received his Master’s in Athletic Training in 2014. He spent a year at the University of Cincinnati as the Track and Field Athletic Trainer before coming to Kentucky State University as the Head Athletic Trainer in August of 2015. Anthony is certified by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He enjoys weight lifting, Crossfit, guitar, and watching sports in his free time.

    Casey Camargo, ATC
    Casey is a native of Lexington, KY. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Union College. Prior to joining KORT, Casey was on the Athletic Training staff at Lincoln Memorial University. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Casey has an interest in manual therapy and rehabilitation. Outside of work, Casey enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, hiking, and playing with her dogs.

    Mandy is originally from Georgetown, Kentucky, Mandy graduated in 2017 from Georgetown College with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training. Mandy is currently earning her Master’s Degree while working with Kentucky State University. In her free time Mandy enjoys reading books and playing with her dog Maverick.

    Brittany Russell, MAT, ATC, LAT
    Brittany is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated in 2013 with a Master of Athletic Training degree from The University of Findlay and in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University. Prior to working with KORT, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Catharine College for 3 years. Brittany is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Brittany has an interest in injury prevention and concussion management. In her free time, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dogs, shopping, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.

    Ariel Allman, MS, ATC, CSCS
    Ariel is a native of Orlando, FL. She received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from University of South Florida and her Master's degree in Athletic Training from University of Kentucky. Prior to joining KORT, Ariel worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Asbury University where she primarily provided care for the men’s soccer, softball, cheerleading, tennis, and basketball teams. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Along with her certification in Athletic Training, she is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. Outside of work, Ariel enjoys reading, napping, and exploring Kentucky.

    Kelsey Lang, ATC
    Kelsey is from Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University. She is currently studying Sports Administration with a concentration in Intercollegiate Athletics at Western Kentucky University. Kelsey is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Outside of work, Kelsey likes to go on walks with her dog and watch movies.

    Cody Pace, ATC
    Cody joined KORT after graduating from the University of Central Missouri. He then moved from Union, MO where he grew up, to Bardstown to work with the athletes at Nelson County High School. He enjoys being outdoors, hunting, fishing and horseback riding in his spare time. Cody’s favorite quote doesn’t come from a sports figure, it comes from John Wayne who said: "Courage is being scared to death ... and saddling up anyway."

    Sara is a native of the Kentuckiana area and grew up in Henryville, IN. She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Exercise Science in 2017. Sara is very passionate about sports medicine and keeping her athletes safe. Outside of athletic training, she likes to spend time with family, friends, and her dog. She also likes being outside, reading, and watching movies.

    Audrey is a native of Summit, IL. She received her dual Bachelor’s degrees in Athletic Training and Political Science from Illinois State University in 2015 and her Master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Administration from Western Kentucky University in 2017. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. In her free time, Audrey enjoys volunteering with the Special Olympics.

    Andrea Just, ATC
    Andrea was born and raised in Louisville. She graduated in 2017 from Murray State University with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to joining KORT, she had an internship with the Louisville Bats as an athletic training student. Andrea is currently a member of National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. Outside of work she enjoys running, lifting, reading and watching college basketball.

    Caitlyn Stevens, ATC
    Caitlyn was born in Spokane, WA and raised in the Pacific Northwest. She made the move to Kentucky in 2013 after playing softball for Columbia Basin College. Caitlyn graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Throughout her education at EKU, she gained experience working with a wide range of sports at both the high school and collegiate levels. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. When not a work, Caitlyn enjoys spending time with friends, her dog Spartan, and traveling back home to see family

    Eric Burkard, MA, ATC, CSCS
    Eric is a native of Momence, IL. He graduated in 2000 with a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, and in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. Before coming to Kentucky in 2012, Eric served as the Athletic Trainer at Marian Catholic and Thorton Township High Schools in the Chicago Suburbs, Niantic-Harristown and Illiopolis High Schools in Central Illinois, and Cumberland and Cawood High Schools in Eastern Kentucky. Eric is currently the Treasurer of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Eric is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has been trained in the use of Kinesio Tape, The McKenzie Method and the Functional Movement Screen. Outside of work, Eric enjoys woodworking, fishing and hunting.

    Bill Cubbage, ATC
    Bill is a lifelong Louisvillian. He graduated from the University of Louisville in 1983 with a BS in Physical Education. He has over 35 years of experience working as an athletic trainer at the high school, college and professional levels. Bill served as the athletic trainer for the Louisville Thunder Professional Indoor Soccer team for 1 year, the head athletic trainer at Bellarmine University for 10 years, and assistant athletic trainer at the University of Louisville for 1 year. Bill originally joined KORT in 1999 and served as athletic trainer at Christian Academy of Louisville before moving to Trinity High School in 2000. Bill is active in the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society where he has served in many capacities, including vice president, awards committee chair, web master, symposium coordinator, and others. In 2004, Bill was awarded the KATS Award of Merit and in 2010 was the named the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association High School Athletic Trainer of the Year. Over the years, Bill has volunteered to cover many events. A lover of high school football, he has been on the sidelines every season since 1974 most notably serving as the volunteer athletic trainer at Iroquois High School from 1984-1998. In his free time, Bill is foodie and loves to try new places. Bill is also an avid comic book collector and currently owns over 14,000 comics.

    Josh is a native of Centralia, IL. He graduated in 2012 with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Arkansas State University and in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine-Athletic Training from Murray State University. Prior to joining KORT, Josh was the Head Athletic Trainer at Kentucky State University. Josh is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his new daughter and his wife, playing golf, and spending time with all of his family.

    Mike graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor’s Degree and enjoys working in the high school setting. Mike currently serves as the head Athletic Trainer for Warren Central HS. He believes in helping the young athlete to get back in to sports after a tough injury. His hobbies include golfing and working around the house, and he is active in the KHSAA with volleyball, basketball and NCAA softball. He is happily married to his wife, Karla, and has two daughters, Madison and Kate. His favorite quote is, "Treat others as you want to be treated.”

    Larry Starnes, ATC
    Larry brings 35 years of experience to KORT. The past 8 years he has been the Athletic Trainer primarily for Warren East High School in Bowling Green, KY. From 1983 to 2010, Larry was a teacher, trainer, coach, and assistant athletic director at Edmonson County High School in Brownsville, KY. While in high school at Edmonson County Larry was a member of the 1976 State Basketball Championship Team. Larry obtained his Master’s Degree in Athletic Training from Central Missouri State University in 1982. His undergraduate degree is from Western Kentucky University in 1981 and has been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 1981. While at Warren East, Larry has provided the health care needs of the many athletes that play for the 17 varsity athletic teams. These teams have had great success and many athletes have gone on to play at the college level. Larry and his wife Linda live in Edmonson County, have two sons and enjoy their five grandchildren, as well as riding and showing their World Champion Tennessee Walking Horses.

    Kendra is a native of Pueblo, CO. She received her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training from Colorado State University - Pueblo in 2013. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. In her free time, Kendra enjoys weight training and spending time with family and friends.

    Dean Geary, MS, LAT, ATC
    Dean has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Jessamine County/West Jessamine High School since 1988. Until 2016, he was also a full-time teacher at WJHS. During his tenure, Dean also served as Athletic Director. Upon his retirement from teaching, Dean joined the KORT Sports Medicine team and remains Head Athletic Trainer at WJHS. Originally from Louisville, Dean did his undergraduate work at Western Kentucky University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety with a minor in Athletic Training. Dean also served for 2 years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Kentucky and earned his Master of Science degree while there. Prior to WJHS, Dean served as an Athletic Trainer at Centre College and for the Kentucky Trackers semi-pro football team. He has worked numerous sports camps throughout the region. A certified EMT, Dean has volunteered his time on the Jessamine County Rescue Squad, Danville/Boyle County Rescue Squad and the Junction City Rescue Squad. During his career Dean has received several professional awards. He has twice received the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society Award of Merit (1995 & 2010), the KATS High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award (2004) and the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award (1997). In 2016, Dean received the KATS highest honor by being inducted as the 13th member of the KATS Hall of Fame. Dean currently serves as Chairman of the State Advisory Council on Athletic Trainers to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, the Assistant Medical Coordinator for the Bluegrass State Games and secretary of the KHSAA 12th Region Policy Board. Dean previously served as the treasurer for the Kentucky Athletic Trainer Society for 18 years, chairman of the 12th Region Policy Board and treasurer of the 12th Region Athletic Directors Association.
