  • The Athletic Trainers within KORT are comprised of Board-Certified Athletic Trainers who advocate for the health and safety of all athletes they work with. KORT's Athletic Trainers aspire to provide medical care with the highest degree of professionalism, honesty, and compassion. Working directly with the athlete and collaborating with parents, coaches, and other health care providers, we ensure that the athlete is able to participate as safely as possible.

    KORT provides premier sports medicine coverage and cutting-edge educational and prevention services to local schools and community groups. Since 1987, KORT has been the foremost provider of sports medicine services in the region.     Mark Fang, ATC
    Mark is a native of New Hyde Park, NY. He graduated from Stony Brook University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Before joining KORT, Mark worked as a personal trainer at UFC Gym Long Island, was an athletic trainer working with Varsity Spirit covering cheerleading/dance camps/competitions in various parts of the country, and was the athletic trainer at Oyster Bay High School in Oyster Bay, NY. Mark holds certifications in Trigger Point Performance Therapy and kettlebell training. As an athletic trainer, he is interested in manual therapy. In his free time, Mark enjoys learning and cooking different recipes he finds, improving his knowledge of strength and conditioning, and competing in Olympic weightlifting at a local and national level.

    Jennifer Hayden, PT, DPT, OCS, ATC
    Jennifer is a native of Bardstown. She received her undergraduate degree in Exercise Science/Sports Medicine from Campbellsville University in 1999 and her Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2003. While working for KORT, Jennifer completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Regis University in 2008. Jennifer became an Orthopedic Certified Specialist in 2011 and enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, especially pediatric and sports-related injuries. During her free time, she loves going to the movies, reading, playing softball, and watching UK sports.

    Lindsey Townsel, ATC
    Lindsey is originally from Muskegon, MI. She is a 2010 graduate of the University of Southern Indiana with a Master’s in Public Administration and a 2008 graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to joining KORT, Lindsey was the Head Athletic Trainer at Muskegon Community College, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Physical Education Department, teaching classes in CPR, First Aid, and Blood Bourne Pathogens. She is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, and holds a certification for Functional Movement Screening. Some of her hobbies include spending time with family/friends, traveling, and painting.

    Kayla Keller, M.ED, LAT, ATC, CES, PES
    Kayla graduated in 2012 with a Master's Degree in Education of Health & Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Tyler and in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Indiana University. Kayla is originally from Indianapolis, Indiana. Prior to joining KORT, Kayla was on the Athletic Training staffs at The University of Texas at Tyler and St. Vincent Sports Performance. Kayla is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association as well as Kentucky & Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Societies. Kayla has worked with various levels of athletics and most enjoys manual therapy. Outside of work, she likes to spend her free time traveling, cooking new dishes & weight lifting.

    Josh Heines, MA, LAT, ATC
    Josh is a native of Louisville. In 2012, Josh received his Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University. In 2014, he received his Master’s degree in Sports Management from East Tennessee State University. Before coming to Butler Traditional High School, Josh was the Athletic Trainer at Marion County High School in Lebanon, KY. Josh is also certified in ErgoScience POETS and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. He loves learning new and interesting topics within Athletic Training. When not working, Josh enjoys spending time with family/friends, playing and watching sports, fishing, and going to UK sporting events.

    Kristen Pollock, ATC
    Kristen is a native of Cincinnati, OH and earned her Bachelor of Science in Allied Medical Professions from The Ohio State University in 2008. She went on to earn her Master of Science in Exercise Science from the University of Toledo in 2010. Prior to joining KORT, Kristen worked at Libbey High School in Toledo, OH. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Her professional interests lie in injury prevention, primarily in the lower extremity. Outside of work, Kristen enjoys Ohio State football, traveling, hiking, and being outdoors.

    Caroline is a native of Concord, NC. She graduated from The College of Charleston in South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Dance in 2012. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and received a Master of Science in Athletic Training in 2015. Caroline is interested in manual therapy and is certified in Graston Technique, Rock Tape Functional Movement Techniques and is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine. Outside of work she enjoys taking dance technique classes, Crossfit, and playing with her dogs, Tucker and Louie.

    Kate Meyer, MS, ATC
    Kate grew up in St. Louis, MO. She received her Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Ball State University in 2007 and her Master of Health Promotion from Oklahoma State University in 2009. While at Oklahoma State, Kate worked as the Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Men's Cross Country and Track teams. Joining KORT in 2009, she was the Athletic Trainer for Valley High School before moving on to Christian Academy, where she has been since February of 2013. Kate serves on the Awards Committee for KATS and as a clinical instructor to the Spalding Athletic Training Program. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her two sons and husband, reading, and baking.

    Megan School, LAT, ATC
    Megan is a native of Wittenberg, Wisconsin. She graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and minor in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Along with collegiate and high school clinical experiences, she served as an athletic training student intern with the Wisconsin Woodchucks baseball team for two seasons. Megan is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Indiana Athletic Trainers’ Association. She is interested in manual therapy and myofascial release techniques. Megan was a member of the winning research team at the Wisconsin Athletic Trainers’ Association Conference for her study on stretching, cupping, and instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization. Outside of work, she enjoys running, fishing, hunting, drawing, and painting.

    Candi Lee, ATC
    Candi is a native of Lexington, KY. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and her Master of Education degree in Exercise Science from Auburn University in 2005. Candi has worked for University of Kentucky Sports Medicine, Jacksonville University, and Harrison Memorial Hospital prior to being hired on by KORT. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, as well as Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society. Candi enjoys mentoring students that may have an interest in Athletic Training or other healthcare professions. When not working she enjoys, reading, attending sporting events, and traveling.

    Chelsey Switzer, ATC
    Chelsey is a native to Cynthiana, Kentucky. She graduated in 2013 from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Exercise Science. Throughout her career, she has experience with a wide range of sports at the high school and collegiate levels. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, and the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. She enjoys being a preceptor to future athletic trainers. When she is not working she enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family, boyfriend, and dog Maximus.

    Abbie Ballentine, ATC
    Abbie is originally from Springfield, OH. She graduated in 2017 with a Master's Degree in Recreation and Sport Administration from Western Kentucky University and in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to assuming the Head Athletic Trainer position at Eastern High School, Abbie worked as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for both Eastern High School and Christian Academy of Louisville. Abbie has an interest in Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and also concussion management. In her free time outside of work she enjoys reading, checking out the various thrift and antique stores and spending time at the dog park with her dogs.

    Suzanne Strong, ATC
    Suzanne is a native of Hickman, KY. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Health and Human Performance, with a concentration in Athletic Training from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2005. Prior to joining KORT, Suzanne has worked for Sports Orthopedics and Spine in Jackson, TN as the Sports Medicine Coordinator, assisting with semi pro ice hockey, collegiate, and high school sports. She is a member of National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society, and Tennessee Athletic Trainers' Society. Suzanne has a special interest in Rock Taping, Functional Movement Techniques, Kinesio Taping, concussion rehabilitation, and sport psychology. Outside of work, Suzanne enjoys ballroom dancing, swimming, exercising, and Broadway shows.

    Becky Clifton, MS, ATC, LAT, CKTP
    Becky has lived in Southern Indiana for a total of 30 years. She graduated from Indiana State University in 1988 with a Bachelor's in Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training and obtained her Master's in Physical Education with a specialization in Athletic Training from Indiana University -Bloomington in 1989. Becky's career started at the University of Detroit as the Assistant Athletic Trainer and Associate Professor. She also has International experience with the 1987 Pan Am Games and the 1996 Paralympic Games. Becky has been recognized at both the state and national levels. She is interested in movement based therapies, Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Strength and Conditioning, and Post-Concussion Rehabilitation. Outside of work, Becky enjoys time with her dog and pet mouse, volunteering with the youth at her church, reading, and watching the Indianapolis Colts.

    Rachel Hollenbach, PT, DPT
    Rachel is a native of Pennsylvania. She went the University of Louisville, where she played field hockey, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. She then attended the University of Pittsburgh, where she graduated in 2015 with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Rachel earned her Vestibular and Concussion certification and completed KORT’s Orthopedic Residency program in January 2018. She enjoys working with orthopedic patients, vestibular and concussion rehabilitation, as well as working with athletes. Rachel’s outside hobbies include attending sporting events, playing recreational sports, trying new restaurants, playing with her dog, and movies.

    Gary Kail, ATC
    Gary was born and raised in Frankfort, KY. He graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. He is a nationally certified EMT and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. When not a work, Gary enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.

    Tiffany Hammond, MS, ATC
    Tiffany is a native of Louisville, KY. She is a two-time graduate of the University of Louisville with a Master’s in Sport Administration (2006) and Bachelor of Education with a concentration in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine (2001). Prior to moving to Indiana University Southeast, Tiffany was a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer with KORT, covering Spalding University. She currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at IU Southeast, teaching courses in Introduction to Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Sport Management, and Personal Health. She is certified in Functional Movement Screening. When not working, Tiffany enjoys watching her kids play sports and camping with her family.

    Crista is a native of Toledo, OH. Outside of work, Crista enjoys spending time with her dogs and watching the Carolina Panthers.

    Daniel Thomas, ATC
    Daniel is a 2009 graduate of Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and originally from Joppa, IL. He also attended Rend Lake Junior College on a basketball scholarship, where he earned an Associates in Arts and Sciences. Prior to joining KORT, Daniel worked with the Southern Illinois Miners in the Frontier Baseball League, as well as Southern Illinois rugby. His professional interests include upper and lower extremity rehabilitation, injury prevention, and kinesiology taping. When not working, Daniel enjoys hunting, fishing, working out, binge watching Netflix, and playing around with his two dogs, Remi and Arthur.

    Ray Hibbert, ATC
    Ray is a native of Knightstown, IN. He graduated from Franklin College in Indiana with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training. Prior to joining KORT, Ray was an athletic trainer in Greenville, SC for Greenville Hospital System. He served as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Hillcrest High School. Ray is an avid Notre Dame fan and enjoys making a trip to South Bend each year for a game. In his free time, he enjoys walking with his wife (Bekah) and dog (Tate), traveling to new places, and cooking.

    Anthony Passarette, ATC
    Anthony is a New York native from Mount Sinai. He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training from Stony Brook University in 2013. He went onto to California University of Pennsylvania for graduate school where he received his Master’s in Athletic Training in 2014. He spent a year at the University of Cincinnati as the Track and Field Athletic Trainer before coming to Kentucky State University as the Head Athletic Trainer in August of 2015. Anthony is certified by the NSCA as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He enjoys weight lifting, Crossfit, guitar, and watching sports in his free time.

Casey has an interest in manual therapy and rehabilitation. Outside of work, Casey enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, hiking, and playing with her dogs.

    Rebecca received her Bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sport Science - Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before completing her Master's degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of South Carolina. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Southeastern Athletic Trainers' Association. Prior to joining KORT, Rebecca worked in Arizona and Florida.

    Kevin Brown, MEd, ATC
    Kevin is a native of Port Huron, MI. He graduated in 2006 with a Master's Degree in Applied Kinesiology from the University of Minnesota and in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine-Athletic Training from Eastern Michigan University. Prior to joining KORT, Kevin was on the Athletic Training staffs at the University of Louisville, the University of Minnesota, and Coastal Carolina University. He serves on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association COPA Performing Arts Workgroup and the Select Medical Dance Medicine Advisory Board. Kevin is currently Vice President of the Performing Arts Athletic Trainers’ Society and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science, the Performing Arts Medicine Association, and Kinesio Taping Association International. Kevin has an interest in manual therapy and is certified in Sound Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization, Kinesio Taping, Rock Tape Functional Movement Techniques, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and the Functional Movement Screen. He is the 2017 winner of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society Award of Merit. Outside of work, Kevin enjoys reading, supporting the performing arts, watching sports, and trying new restaurants.

    Teresa earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, and her Master's degree at the University of Kentucky. She is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Teresa is a member of the Performing Arts Special Interest Group in Orthopedic Section, and a member of the International Association of Dance Medicine and Science. She enjoys outdoor activities, running, and travelling.

    Ryan Dawson, MAT, ATC
    Ryan is a native from Bardstown, KY. He graduated in 2017 with a Master’s in Athletic Training from the University of Arkansas and in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Western Kentucky University. While obtaining his degrees, Ryan worked with multiple teams including football, basketball, and softball. Additionally, Ryan spent a summer with the University of Louisville. Prior to joining KORT, Ryan worked with amateur and professional athletes. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and is interested in manual therapy and injury prevention techniques to help prevent and rehabilitate musculoskeletal injuries. Outside of work, Ryan enjoys reading, weight training and long distance running.

    Brittany Russell, MAT, ATC, LAT
    Brittany is a native of Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated in 2013 with a Master of Athletic Training degree from The University of Findlay and in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Western Kentucky University. Prior to working with KORT, she was the Head Athletic Trainer at St. Catharine College for 3 years. Brittany is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Brittany has an interest in injury prevention and concussion management. In her free time, Brittany enjoys spending time with her family and friends, playing with her dogs, shopping, and cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats.

    Marti Greer, MS, ATC, RT
    Marti is a native of Nicholasville, KY and has been employed by KORT since 2009. She received her Master of Science Degree in Movement Science from Barry University in 2008 and Bachelor of Science Degree in Athletic Training from Eastern Kentucky University in 2006. While at Barry University, Marti worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women's soccer, women's basketball and baseball teams. She was also on the athletic training staff at Harvard Westlake School in Los Angeles, CA. Since joining KORT, Marti has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Mercy Academy (2014-Present) and Assumption High School (2009-2014). She is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainer's Society and is certified in Functional Movement Screen. Before becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer, Marti graduated from Saint Joseph School of Radiology in 2000 as a Radiologic Technologist. She is also a member of the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy. When not working, Marti enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and woodworking.

    Ariel Allman, MS, ATC, CSCS
    Ariel is a native of Orlando, FL. She received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from University of South Florida and her Master's degree in Athletic Training from University of Kentucky. Prior to joining KORT, Ariel worked as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Asbury University where she primarily provided care for the men’s soccer, softball, cheerleading, tennis, and basketball teams. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA), the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA), and the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Along with her certification in Athletic Training, she is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA. Outside of work, Ariel enjoys reading, napping, and exploring Kentucky.

    Stephanie is a native of Hoffman Estates, IL. She received her Master of Athletic Training and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science degrees from Saint Louis University. Stephanie is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys running.

    Cody James, MS, ATC
    Cody is a native of Belle Center, Ohio and has a Master of Science degree in Athletic Training from Ohio University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Heildelberg College. He has worked with the Arizona Diamondbacks baseball team during spring training, as well as the Triple-A baseball team, the Tucson Sidewinders. Cody enjoys spending his spare time with his family, watching sports and cooking.

    Elizabeth is a native of Galax, VA. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training from Messiah College in 2006 and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville in 2008. Before joining KORT in 2016, she worked in the same capacity with Active Athlete Sports Medicine serving New Albany High School. Elizabeth is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society. Her professional interests include brain injury in athletics and biomechanics. When not working, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with friends, reading, hiking, and running.

    Kaleigh Hundley, ATC, CPT
    Kaleigh is a native of Wilbraham, MA. She attended Westfield State University and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine. She is a Certified and Licensed Athletic Trainer, as well as a Certified Personal Trainer. In addition to her work at Presentation Academy, Kaleigh provides coaching in KORT's Sports Performance program. Prior to joining KORT, Kaleigh was living in NYC where she worked as an Athletic Trainer and Exercise Specialist at Manhattan Sports Medicine, directly affiliated with the Hospital for Special Surgery. She also provided in-home personal training throughout the boroughs. Kaleigh is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the National Council on Strength & Fitness. Kaleigh has an interest in sports performance as well as rehabilitative/corrective exercise. She is certified in Pre & Post Natal Exercise, the Functional Movement Screen, Level ll Russian Kettlebells, and TRX Suspension Training. Outside of work, Kaleigh enjoys traveling, hiking, and music.

    Sara Henson, ATC
    Sara is a native of the Kentuckiana area and grew up in Henryville, IN. She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Exercise Science in 2017. Sara is very passionate about sports medicine and keeping her athletes safe. Outside of athletic training, she likes to spend time with family, friends, and her dog. She also likes being outside, reading, and watching movies.

    Audrey is a native of Summit, IL. She received her dual Bachelor’s degrees in Athletic Training and Political Science from Illinois State University in 2015 and her Master’s degree in Recreation and Sport Administration from Western Kentucky University in 2017. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association, and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. In her free time, Audrey enjoys volunteering with the Special Olympics.

    Andrea was born and raised in Louisville. She graduated in 2017 from Murray State University with her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. Prior to joining KORT, she had an internship with the Louisville Bats as an athletic training student. Andrea is currently a member of National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. Outside of work she enjoys running, lifting, reading and watching college basketball.

    Amanda received her Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from the University of Mobile in 2011. She is currently working on a dual Master’s degree in Health & Fitness and Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy. Amanda is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association.

    Erica Ciresi, ATC
    Erica was born and raised in Louisville. She graduated from Murray State University in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training. Erica has an interest in Kinesio Taping and is certified in Functional Movement Screens. When she's not working, Erica enjoys spending time with her family, watching sports and cooking.

    Eric Burkard, MA, ATC, CSCS
    Eric is a native of Momence, IL. He graduated in 2000 with a Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology from College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN, and in 1997 with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Millikin University in Decatur, IL. Before coming to Kentucky in 2012, Eric served as the Athletic Trainer at Marian Catholic and Thorton Township High Schools in the Chicago Suburbs, Niantic-Harristown and Illiopolis High Schools in Central Illinois, and Cumberland and Cawood High Schools in Eastern Kentucky. Eric is currently the Treasurer of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Eric is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He has been trained in the use of Kinesio Tape, The McKenzie Method and the Functional Movement Screen. Outside of work, Eric enjoys woodworking, fishing and hunting.

    Bill Cubbage, ATC
    Bill is a lifelong Louisvillian. He graduated from the University of Louisville in 1983 with a BS in Physical Education. He has over 35 years of experience working as an athletic trainer at the high school, college and professional levels. Bill served as the athletic trainer for the Louisville Thunder Professional Indoor Soccer team for 1 year, the head athletic trainer at Bellarmine University for 10 years, and assistant athletic trainer at the University of Louisville for 1 year. Bill originally joined KORT in 1999 and served as athletic trainer at Christian Academy of Louisville before moving to Trinity High School in 2000. Bill is active in the Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society where he has served in many capacities, including vice president, awards committee chair, web master, symposium coordinator, and others. In 2004, Bill was awarded the KATS Award of Merit and in 2010 was the named the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association High School Athletic Trainer of the Year. Over the years, Bill has volunteered to cover many events. A lover of high school football, he has been on the sidelines every season since 1974 most notably serving as the volunteer athletic trainer at Iroquois High School from 1984-1998. In his free time, Bill is foodie and loves to try new places. Bill is also an avid comic book collector and currently owns over 14,000 comics.

    Jazmin Cureton is nationally certified with the Board of Certification and state licensed with the Kentucky State Board of Medical Licensure. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Xavier University, where she worked with several sports, including the Xavier Women's Basketball Team.

    Josh is a native of Centralia, IL. He graduated in 2012 with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Arkansas State University and in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine-Athletic Training from Murray State University. Prior to joining KORT, Josh was the Head Athletic Trainer at Kentucky State University. Josh is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society. Outside of work, Josh enjoys spending time with his new daughter and his wife, playing golf, and spending time with all of his family.

    Dean Geary, MS, LAT, ATC
    Dean has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Jessamine County/West Jessamine High School since 1988. Until 2016, he was also a full-time teacher at WJHS. During his tenure, Dean also served as Athletic Director. Upon his retirement from teaching, Dean joined the KORT Sports Medicine team and remains Head Athletic Trainer at WJHS. Originally from Louisville, Dean did his undergraduate work at Western Kentucky University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Health and Safety with a minor in Athletic Training. Dean also served for 2 years as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Kentucky and earned his Master of Science degree while there. Prior to WJHS, Dean served as an Athletic Trainer at Centre College and for the Kentucky Trackers semi-pro football team. He has worked numerous sports camps throughout the region. A certified EMT, Dean has volunteered his time on the Jessamine County Rescue Squad, Danville/Boyle County Rescue Squad and the Junction City Rescue Squad. During his career Dean has received several professional awards. He has twice received the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society Award of Merit (1995 & 2010), the KATS High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award (2004) and the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association High School Athletic Trainer of the Year Award (1997). In 2016, Dean received the KATS highest honor by being inducted as the 13th member of the KATS Hall of Fame. Dean currently serves as Chairman of the State Advisory Council on Athletic Trainers to the Kentucky Board of Medical Licensure, the Assistant Medical Coordinator for the Bluegrass State Games and secretary of the KHSAA 12th Region Policy Board. Dean previously served as the treasurer for the Kentucky Athletic Trainer Society for 18 years, chairman of the 12th Region Policy Board and treasurer of the 12th Region Athletic Directors Association.

    Chelsey is a native to Cynthiana, Kentucky. She graduated in 2013 from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Exercise Science. Throughout her career, she has experience with a wide range of sports at the high school and collegiate levels. She is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Kentucky Athletic Trainers’ Society, and the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association. She enjoys being a preceptor to future athletic trainers. When she is not working she enjoys reading, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family, boyfriend, and dog Maximus.

    John Handley, ATC
    John is a native of Louisville, KY and is a graduate of Trinity High School (1993). He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education with an emphasis in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from the University of Louisville in 1998. John is a member of the University of Louisville Letterwinners' Club. He has worked at the Professional, College and High School levels for almost 20 years. Prior to working with KORT, John has been employed by the St Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Steadman Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas, and Norton Orthopedic Specialists. He was also the head athletic trainer at USC Upstate in Spartanburg, SC from 2004-2006. John is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association, as well as the Kentucky Athletic Trainers' Society. Outside of work, John enjoys reading, travel, UofL sports, alumni events, and attending bourbon tastings.
